Relationships between religion, moral foundations, and environmentalism in young adult Catholics

Abstract The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating role moral foundations in relationship between religion and environmentalism. online survey data collected from 616 young adult Catholics Poland aged 19–25, who are likely be affected by climate change more than any other generation before them. Regression analysis showed that environmentalism can predicted opposing paths spirituality (positively) religious fundamentalism (negatively). Analysis multiple mediator models care mediated complex profiles influence each jointly contribute development specific indirect effects care/harm fairness/cheating play a special promoting care. results suggest attitudes, along with values, may significant solving problems.
